Take a journey to Barcelona and enjoy its Mediterranean flair in food, interiors and drinks
Named after the co-founder and chef’s daughter, Alain Devahive unleashes his culinary wisdom on the curation of the menu, drawing upon more than a decade’s expertise in Michelin starred restaurants, including the unrivalled elBulli Restaurant.
At the heart of Olivia Restaurant & Lounge is the open kitchen, from where comes hearty and honest flavours inspired by Barcelona, channelling the diversity and eclecticism of the Mediterranean coastal city. Highlights include the Jamon Iberico de bellota, free range oak forest ham fed with acorn, to Envoltini de Bogavante y Aguacate, a homemade tribute to the avocado lobster roll from “Catalunya Restaurant”, and a Lomo de Buey Wagyu con salsa de trufa y piminetos del piquillo confitados – a succulent Wagyu striploin with truffle sauce and confit piquillo peppers.
An expansive selection of Spanish and international wines are curated by COO Miquel Sabrià, who leads the restaurant’s operations. The former Michelin Sommelier credits his industry knowledge to his background at Roca Moo, Barcelona and as the Group Head Sommelier at lifestyle giant Ismaya Group, Jakarta.
Designed by Barcelona-based, Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the interiors exude the spirit of Barcelona from the exposed brick and handmade, painted ceramics on the walls to the sculptures and pots flown in from Barcelona to the mud flooring and fabrics and materials.
Once the sun sets, the space transitions into an intimate lounge, which mimics the lure of Barcelona’s bar culture serving items such as Whether it’s time for a Gin Me!! – one of Olivia’s signature cocktails. Or sip a Beautiful Melody of Aperol, St Germain, lemon, and strawberry.
