Beautiful to look at, these fruit that grow in warmer climates offer a wealth of health perks.

Serves 2

Mangosteen Lassi

4 mangosteens
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 cup water
1 tsp sugar
1 sprig fresh mint
1 tbsp lemon juice

Peel the mangosteens and discard seeds. Blend all ingredients together with ice. Serve chilled.

Pineapple Coconut Frappe

1 1/2 cups chopped pineapple
1 cup milk
1/3 cup coconut milk
10 ice cubes

Blend all ingredients until smooth and frothy.


Protection against digestive diseases. Studies show that mangosteen is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. These factors are said to be the reason for mangosteen health benefits. One of the most important mangosteen health benefits is its effect on the cardiovascular system. It is believed to be effective in preventing diseases such arthritis, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, atherosclerosis, kidney stones, cataract, glaucoma, alzheimer’s and neuralgia. It is also said that this fruit can be effective in treating depression, aging, obesity, skin diseases, allergies, ulcers, diarrhea, fevers and pain.
